InsuranceLive comparisons are designed to prevent a common mistake: treating the lowest premium or a single claim ratio as the whole decision.
Comparable inputs first
Quotes are only compared when key inputs—sum insured, deductible, policy term, age/risk details and optional covers—are materially similar.
Coverage before price
We examine coverage fit, exclusions, cost-sharing, waiting periods, sub-limits, claim process and then price. A cheap policy can be poor value if a condition matters to the reader’s use case.
No unsupported hands-on claims
If we have not tested an app, service or claim journey ourselves, we describe documentation and process rather than pretending to have completed a test.
Official verification
Regulatory points are checked against IRDAI materials. Product-specific details should be verified against the current insurer document because policy wordings change.
What we do not rank
We do not publish “best insurer” rankings based only on commission, advertising spend or a single percentage. Where a recommendation is editorial judgment, the criteria should be visible on the page.
